Delusions of grandeur fail to be as astute a term as one would care to define.
Is it more than envy?
Is it greater than any desire one would ever hope or dare to dream?
Is it love?
Or the possibility of love?
Love for ones self so that He may learn to love others?
Does He crave acceptance?
Or does He lust for power?
Is it just that which would keep him driven,
so determined to endeavor upon the unattainable?
To face the insurmountable
Just so he may greet adversity with a smile.
So that those left in his wake, would be duly minded.
That his actions are of his own accord.
That his ambitions, no matter how enshrouded,
are of his own making.
It will not do, if he were so easily judged
by those, who's own judgement comes so easily.
By those with such petulant views that
are mired by the mundane and are force fed by the masses.
In the end, however, his path is not my own.
He may blaze trails
and pave thee way so that others so devouyt may follow
And most certainly
there may have been a time,
when i myself, may havegladly fallen into those numbers
with such doe-eyed reverance.
Yes, there in lies my own admiration and aspirations to a certain extent.
But, i suffer no illusions that this is how every man
wishes to appear in the eyes of others.
it would be folly to presume that even one such as i, would desire such standing.
No. I suffer no such delusion that this would aptly represent the ideals of the expectations harboured by the Presumptuous.
I'am to the Audience of the Nonchalant
whether it be in good graces, interests of indifference or seething disdain.
This is to those of that rare and disquieted stock.
.....and it is to you, that I applaud.
